We spent Saturday in the company of Tim and Valter

On Saturday, 22.6.2013, the 4th edition of the event took place on a very successful and sunny day. Charity football spectacle under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr. Borut Pahor.

The charity event was attended by an estimated 1 200 people, and many celebrities, including President Borut Pahor, who defended his team’s goal, played on the football pitch in the teams of Valter Birsa and Tim Matavž.To greet everyone present, a Pipistrel aircraft flew over the playground with Mr. Ivo Boscarol.
Before the start of the competition, we had the opportunity to listen to the national anthem, sung by Alja Krušič as her first performance after winning Slovenia’s Got Talent 2013.
The football players and the excellent commentary of the moderators Ervin Čurlič and Miha Brajnik ensured a varied and active action on the pitch.
The event was also enlivened by majorettes from the Brda Majorette and Twirling Group and the acrobatic group Dunking Devils.
For their help in the organisation of the event and for making it so successful and resounding, the Vrabček upanja Foundation would like to thank the following with the sculpture of the sparrow: the Bilje Football Association, Radio 1, Mayor Zatko-Martin Marušič, the Municipality of Miren-Kostanjevica, President Borut Pahor and Father Bogdan Knavs. We would also like to personally thank Radio Robin, Mayor Milan Turk and the municipality of Šempeter-Vrtojba, Mayor Franco Mužič and the municipality of Brda, who unfortunately were unable to attend the event. Special thanks also go to Matjaž Nemec and to EP d.o.o., the organiser of this year’s Eurobasket 2013.
The entertainment and good mood was followed by performances by stand-up comedian Denis Avdič and Ranko Babič, and good music by the band The users.

Thanks to everyone who participated or helped in one way or another, as we raised almost 2.000 € from voluntary contributions that day alone.
