Because we believe in the power of genuine human interdependence.

Because we believe in the power of genuine human interdependence.

A pebble in the mosaic

It all started on that unforgettable day when the right words hit the right place in the soul of the founder-owner of Contall ..

“Can you imagine a child with severe cerebral palsy being removed from the safety of their home for weeks on end due to hospital treatment? Can you imagine an adolescent who has suffered a head injury in a car accident, or an adult neurological patient who has suffered a stroke (or similar condition), in urgent need of rehabilitation before being discharged from hospital, and they are placed in an overcrowded and crumbling infrastructure that has not been touched for more than 40 years?” said the then head of the department, Dr. Jurij Karapandža.

At that moment, she knew she had to add her piece to the puzzle. The Vrabček upanja Foundation is established.

Today we are proud to say that the Department for Disabled Youth and Rehabilitation in Stara Gora is the apple of the eye of the Sparrow of Hope Foundation. We immediately started collecting funds and until 2018 collected them exclusively for the purchase of equipment and supplies for the Department for Disabled Youth and Rehabilitation in Stara Gora.

In 2018, to our great satisfaction, the construction of the new rehabilitation center began. Thus, we handed over the funds collected up to that time (200,000 EUR) to the account of the General Hospital Dr. Franc Derganc Nova Gorica, which, by signing the agreement, committed to purchasing equipment for the new department.

Today we are proud to say that we are a voluntary, non-profit and non-governmental organization Sparrow of Hope, which helps those in need, and especially disabled youth, so that they can get through difficult times or live a life worthy of a human being and experience a sense of acceptance.

The purpose of the Foundation

We are a voluntary, non-profit and non-governmental organization that finances its purpose with funds received from donors and sponsors.

Until 2018, we collected funds exclusively for the purchase of equipment and supplies for the Department for Disabled Youth and Rehabilitation in Stara Gora, but since that year we have expanded the scope of our activities and offered assistance in other cases and situations, both to individuals and to the entire society and the environment.

One of our ambassadors once wrote in an interview: “We are all just people. But when you close your eyes, everything fades: successes, money, pride, greatness. And everything is meaningless if there is no thought of someone, human warmth and the feeling that it feels good when you think of someone.”

Capital is the vast majority of what happens in the economy today. It forces people to put their lives on autopilot, where their gaze is focused only on the suffocating pursuit of goals.
