an 11-year-old boy called Miha, who lives in the Vipava Valley and is battling a rare disease – muscular dystrophy, which makes it difficult for him to stand up and walk up stairs. The money raised was used to buy him a personalised car.

For several years now, the Sparrow of Hope Foundation, the Brda Municipality, the Brda Football Club and the Brda Institute for Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sport have been organising a charity gathering with cherries and a football in Vipolže.

Donation by the Rotary Club of Solkan and 14 GFL – air traffic controllers
On Friday, 29.11., we gathered in Stara Gora at the department for disabled youth. The meeting was held in order to hand over a donation from the Rotary Club of Solkan and 14 GFL, in the framework of the organisation of the International Air Traffic Controllers Meeting, which together raised € 12.000 for the purchase of an oxygen station.

For the fourth year in a row, the Sparrow of Hope Foundation has been invited to co-organise a charity football spectacle in Bilje. It is one of the most important and largest campaigns, which means that the Foundation is able to achieve its goals more quickly.

On Friday, for the third year in a row, the charity football match in Bilje was a success. Many spectators were able to admire the varied programme that took place on the green. The Prvačke majorettes danced, the Vogrsko Wind Orchestra played, and the beautiful Lipizzaners showed up.

In 2010, the event was organised by the Bilje Football Association, the Football Association of Slovenia, the Sparrow of Hope Foundation and the Friends of Youth Nova Gorica Association on the Bilje pitch and took place in just 9 days, attracting 1,700 visitors who were extremely enthusiastic about the event and its successful promotional campaign. The event was highly publicised in the media and was warmly received both in the local environment and in the wider Slovenian context.
