The meeting was held in order to hand over a donation from the Rotary Club of Solkan and 14 GFL, in the framework of the organisation of the International Air Traffic Controllers Meeting, which together raised € 12.000 for the purchase of an oxygen station. The purpose of the station is to facilitate the supply of patients with oxygen, as only this station will supply oxygen to three to four patients for 24 hours in a row. Previously, they had to use individual oxygen cylinders for this. Patients need oxygen because respiratory problems occur as a secondary complication of the underlying disease. Almost a fifth of the ward’s inmates either occasionally or for a long period require supplemental oxygen.
