Kindergartens in MONG, Šempeter-Vrtojba and Vogrsko
Kindergartens from three municipalities MONG, Šempeter-Vrtojba and Vogrsko also responded to the campaign’s call. Their educational programme will include activities throughout the year to teach children about the lives of “different” children, children with special needs and what it means to be interdependent.
In December 2009, the children organised a bazaar where they sold their products for a symbolic price and donated the money to the Vrabček upanja Foundation.
On Thursday, 13 May, a charity event was held in the gym of the Vrtojba Primary School, organised by the kindergartens Mavrica from Šempeter (the Orange Dwarfs group), Kurirček from Nova Gorica (the Chestnuts group) and the Zvezdica kindergarten from Vogrsko (the Sončki group) together with the Vogrsko Branch School.
The charity event was also attended by the principal of the Ivan Rob Primary School, Slavica Bragato, who addressed the participants and thanked the kindergartens and all the participants.
The toddlers also invited their friends to their event, and their performances were a feast for the eyes. Local singers from Lokovec, Tatjana Mihelj and members of the Paraplegics Association from Nova Gorica performed.
At the end of the event, Darja Peršolja, President of the Board of the Vrabček upanja Foundation and Dr. Jurij Karapanja, Doctor at the Department for Disabled Youth, presented the kindergarten teachers with sculptures of “golden” sparrows to thank them for all the donations that the children had collected for the Department for Disabled Youth in Stara Gora with their products. Above all, they thanked them for the warmth and goodwill they brought when they visited children with disabilities in Stara Gora. The day was enriched by the children from the kindergartens as well as the children from the Department, who made friends and spent a few hours together.
